Freshly baked Sri Lankan fish buns on a tray

Our story

A little taste of home.

Homemade Sri Lankan short eats, freshly made each weekend in Barrie with the warmth of family, tradition, and a little taste of home.

Chapter 01 · Us

In Sri Lanka, short eats are more than just snacks.

They are the little things that bring people together: a plate of rolls passed around during evening tea, warm fish buns shared after school, patties served when guests arrive, and cutlets made for birthdays, prayers, parties, and family gatherings.

They are the food we enjoy while sitting together, talking, laughing, and catching up. Simple bites that somehow make the whole house feel warmer.

When we came to Canada, that feeling stayed with us.

Here in Barrie, we started making Sri Lankan short eats for friends, neighbours, and family gatherings. What began as a few homemade treats soon became something people looked forward to. Every time someone said, “Can you make a few more next weekend?” we knew these familiar flavours were doing what they always did, bringing people together.

That is how Ceylon Tid Bits began.

We are a small weekend Sri Lankan bakery in Barrie, Ontario, making the short eats and sweet treats many of us grew up loving. From crispy rolls and fish buns to patties, cutlets, pastries, mini pizzas, and sweet pan rolls, everything is made with care, warmth, and the comfort of a home kitchen.

Order through the week, we bake on the weekend, and you pick up something fresh, familiar, and made with love.

Whether these flavours remind you of home or you are discovering Sri Lankan short eats for the first time, we hope every bite feels welcoming, comforting, and special.
